On the 22nd of June I gave a presentation at #wpm040 in Eindhoven, about the use of Post Formats in WordPress (feature since WP3.1). If you want to check my slides, here they are. I “dutched” them by special request from the organization of WordPress Meetup Eindhoven. Dual monitor setup to stop procrastination
No Post thumbnail setSince I’m more into freelancing nowadays, I decided on expanding my setup with an extra screen, which I rotated in portrait mode. Ideally for webdesign it appears.
Happy 2011, hope it’s as good as 2010
No Post thumbnail setAlthough I suffered from some personal and health issues last year, 2010 was a great year imho. In webdesign & development lots of new technology became available/useful, Webdesign & webdevelopment This was the year CSS3 & HTML5 broke loose and in combination with jQuery & mobile devices brought the Open Web a bit closer, webstandards ftw. I learned a lot in jQuery, coded my own custom effects and behaviours. Also for mobile development, with jQuery mobile, there are a lot […]
Show technical drawing in layers with CSS, jQuery and some PNGs
No Post thumbnail setToday I read a request from @janseurinck on twitter about howto simply display an illustration with it’s separate layers that easily can be toggled on or off. ( request on posterous (in Dutch) ) Is there a way to simply display a drawing of a boat in 4 separate layers which people can toggle on and off I thought about it for a minute, then put together a working demo. It consists of a very sober HTML5 page with 4 […]
Skisite highlifeplus powered by PodsCMS
No Post thumbnail setFor the past few months I’ve been working on a dutch portal site for skiers, snowboarders and other winter travelers. The site was setup with WordPress + PodsCMS to handle all external data that are pulled in through API scripts, cURL, or CSV- & XML-parsers.
Howto use WordPress as a CMS with PodsCMS (WordCampNL)

Since I’m busy with a project with lots of data, lots of users and lots of restricted access and capabilities, I thought it would be nice to let people see that this can be done with WordPress too. I almost wrote ‘easily’.. ;) But, with the help of PodsCMS Framework plugin a lot of things […]
WordPress presentation at MacBeurs
No Post thumbnail setAfter my presentation on PodsCMS at WordCampNL (which I’ll be putting online anytime soon), I was asked by the people of MacBeurs to do a more general presentation on WordPress as a website building tool. Probably gonna speak about that WordPress is not “just another blog”, although that’s what it always told me after I installed a new WP Install ;) . Trying to focus more on the CMS capabilities and the enormous varied useage of WordPress. I’m now putting […]

New business cards have arrived
With the conception of this new freelance project I wanted sort of a retro futuristic feel to it, and colors like a beer brand. Today my new business cards arrived and I think the idea has turned out great. Not too much decorative elements, lots of empty space etc… Well, look for yourself, photograph’d them quickly with my Android phone.
Hello world!
No Post thumbnail setHello indeed. Since the site is not entirely live, had to push it live due to coverage in some media, I’m flicking the switch and presenting the new online ‘me’.
